ALU should make a public announcement of the change. Website proposition with Luanne Burns The WebMaestra (http://thewebmaestra.com) is a professional website developer and a longtime friend of Tim Daly. She has volunteered to rewrite the ALU website. She has also set up a wiki site. The proposed ALU rewrite is at: http://lisp.ipower.com. The proposed wiki site is at: http://lisp.ipower.com/wiki. The wiki is linked off the main site under Resources. Luanne has volunteered to maintain the site. Please provide feedback. Is ALU open to reworking their site? Is ALU open to reworking the wiki? Is the proposed site reasonable? This item will be tabled until next month. New business The passing of Erik Naggum was discussed with sadness, including his numerous contributions to the ALU, including as a board member. The tribute offered by Kent Pitman was mentioned. The ALU will seek permission from the author to include it or link to it. ALU Website as Wiki R. Hickey wants to move the ALU website to a Wiki. There ensued lengthy discussions concerning options for implementing the proposed move. The primary concerns are for having a location up and running quickly that allows immediate access to modify content at will by the board's designees to freshen the content and bring it up to date quickly. Desires for staying with Lisp-based technologies were expressed. Counter arguments included that web services are commodity items now and what underlying technology is employed is irrelevant. The discussion will be moved to the redesign mailing list to include the remaining members. JonL White moved to adjourn. D. Rettig seconded. The motion passes. The meeting adjourned at 23:18 UTC.
